I bow to Viṣṇu — of peaceful form, reclining on the serpent, the lotus at his navel, lord of the gods; the support of the universe, vast as the sky, the colour of clouds, of auspicious form; beloved of Lakṣmī, lotus-eyed, reached by yogis in meditation; remover of the fear of worldly existence, the one lord of all the worlds.

Shlokpath is a library of the chants recited in Maharashtrian homes, from the Ṛgveda to the Marathi saints, with the original text, transliteration, translations in Marathi, Hindi and English, their sources, and the places they come from. Where authorship, date or place is contested, we say so.
